I have two yorkies puppies, but mine are only 2 months apart. We lost our older dog last June and our other dog wasn't eating and she was acting depressed. We thought if we got a puppy it would help her. It didn't

She didn't have the will or energy at 13 to interact or play with an energetic yorkie puppy. I felt bad for Duncan (the puppy) because all he wanted to do was play. So we decided to get another yorkie puppy (Little Miss Elliot) for him to play with. It was the best thing we could have done. I love having the two of them. They eat, play, tussle, and sleep together. If you find one, you have found the other one. Of course, they look like Mutt and Jeff as Duncan is a 'teapot' yorkie at 10 lbs. and Elliot is a small yorkie at barely 4 lbs.
If I were you, I would get another puppy as soon as possible, while your dog is young, almost a puppy himself. If you were happy with your breeder, I would go back and get another puppy from them as long as their puppies are well taken care of, loved and socialized well. Don't bring home the puppy until it is 12 weeks old so that the mother can finish socializing the puppy.
I think having two yorkies are great. The saying I have seen on the internet is right; Yorkies are a lot like potato chips, you can't just have one.
