You are describing our situation to the T. We got Max from what I later learned was definitely a BYB. Toni did some research but we were uninformed as to what we should have been looking for. After doing a lot of reading on this site I learned we should have stayed far away from this breeder. Having said that if you offered me a million dollars for Max I would not take it. He is my boy! Great personality, smart as a whip and mischievous as hell! As happens in life, things change and we were going to have to start to leave Max home alone during the day so we decided to get him a companion. We went back to the same breeder and got Sasha. Same parents - 8 months younger. I love her to death also but she is not the same as Max. Don't expect a clone just because they are from the same parents. Each one is unique just like human kids. But, IMO, 2 is definitely better than one because they will keep each other occupied and happy. M&S play together, tussle together, sleep together and lick my face until I can't breathe together! I say go for the 2nd pup and the sooner the better!
