Two weeks! I missed posting a lot of walks and another morel hunt. The last 3 day morel hunt we traveled to E WA to a burn that occurred last summer/fall. We hit the bonanza! 3 1/2 coolers of morels! Lots to see, an unusual number of frogs, a deer shed(antler), a lizard of some sort, a rabbit, and more squirrels for Zippy to chase up trees. We left the van early each morning and returned late each night. Hiked in a couple miles to the higher elevations of the hills and worked the intermittent burn areas. By the 3rd day, both of us were moving quite a bit slower than day one. Zippy has turned out to be a fun little buddy in the mountains hiking and hunting the slopes, ridges and draws. I still haven't been able to instill in him the desire to search for morels and point them out to me. LOL

Today we, Zippy, Rambo and I, hit the lake trail, saw a dying raccoon near the trail and belly up perch in the lake. What's up with that?????? Other than that, it was a beauty of a walk through a ravine with a small stream in it. Saw about one inch fish in the stream. The first since this last Winter. Oh, the lake was glass smooth, a guy was doing touch and go's with an RC float plane, very cool! We saw an older yorkie following a ways behind their owner, poor old guy, at least he was out and about! Gucci is grounded until his mom lets him go out again.
