I believe most exhibitors have their own unique approach. Some have secret formulas. Some use nothing in the wraps.
For fixing the topknot on show days, same thing. Most of what they use on show days (spray, gel, or their own recipes) is removed after the show to preserve the hair and for the safety of the dogs' eyes, I would imagine.
A few have said Vellus Satin Creme (purchase online) is good for that.
Finding a mentor and going to shows, talking to the exhibitors after the show, is a great way to learn.
