The puppies are 10 weeks old, almost 11 now (Monday). I take Teek to Petsmart where they use the dremel. I got the quick on one of his nails and I have not tried to cut his since. His nails curled under really badly when I got him. I was trimming just the smallest amount off every other week on him. I did this for 6 weeks and that is when I got the quick on one. I took him to petsmart and they got them down quite a bit for me.

I trim our bigger dogs nails regularly.

I just wanted to clip the very tips off the puppies because they are growing long and are very sharp.

I have a nail clipper that has a guard on the back of it so you can not even put the nail into it very far. For the puppies that is still too far, but for my big dog it is perfect and for Teek it is about right, although I have been too afraid to clip his since then.

We are looking into using a dremel on all the dogs and my husband is willing to do it with me if we decide to go that route. We already have a dremel so it is getting the attachment we need for their nails. Not sure what they use on it, Sandpaper? I am just not sure and need to look into that more I guess. With 4 dogs, going to Petsmart for nails every month or so will get expensive. With just Teek it was okay. I have always trimmed the larger dog's nails with no problem.
