I would not freak out at all about a double dose of Benadryl - it's not all that uncommon in medicine. When I was a nurse, I saw it several times...just depended on the situation. As a patient, I once took Reglan and holy heck did I have a scary reaction to it - I actually got dystonia (utterly terrifying!) - I was immediately given a double dose of Benadryl.
