I still praise like crazy when 5 year old Dinky goes potty outside. I laugh at myself because I really mean it! I really appreciate that he does this. One thing I do is to take him out the minute I see him there. It seems polite considering that he goes outside rain or shine.
I did use a stern "No!" during training. then I always took him outside and told him, "Potty outside!" Now I tell him, "Good boy!. Goes potty outside." Then when I bring him in, I tell DH, and DH chimes in. We do the reverse when DH takes him. |
