Is your boy strictly outdoor trained or a pad user too? Neutering isn't a guarantee against marking as others indicated above. To stop the behavior, you will have to supervise closely. You can limit freedom to roam your house using either baby gates or an xpen when you cannot supervise closely.
If you catch him in the act, correct him. Not angrily, but with a firm voice. Then take him outside or to the pad.
