With them, as with anyone I don't know who asks (And it happens almost every time I go out with her) It's better to just be blunt and say.."she is very fragile and squirms a lot. I am not comfortable with taking the risk that she could be unjured- but thanks for asking" I have had a few of the adults insist that they know now to hold a puppy. In those cases I just smile and say " Thank you! I really appreciate that you think she's cute and want to hold her, but I don't know you and I am NOT comfortable allowing you to hold her" And I walk away.....No one has yet, but if they insisted after that, depending on the situation, I would drop all pretense of being polite and tell them to get the hell away from me and my dog.

I totally know how you feel. My bf's nephew is always asking to hold my little boy, who is quite timid around kids. He's usually backing up when others, especially kids and large-sized adults, approach him. I always have to 'kindly' say "no, you can't hold him". It's hard to deny people, but it's safety first!

I learned the hard way, because when I first got him, I had no idea he was squirmy and he tried to leap away from two people who forcefully wanted to hold him and he nearly fell to the floor

Just an additional rant, it's so annoying when everyone around acts like they're dog experts telling me what's okay and what's not and how to train my dog and how to maintain my dog's haircut. ugh. [/quote]

If you want your sister to see her then bring your sister here but this dog is not going anywhere!"
Absolutely NOT! For sure!
lol...imagine if this guys said it to someone's baby, it'd be called kidnapping!
