This happened to one of my dogs, however, they did find a tiny piece of foxglove in there - so it resolved after they got it out. And nope, it's def not cheap! I wonder if, in your case, they either weren't able to find the culprit...and/or...maybe the cavity is just still irritated from the procedure...? Sometimes, they do have to go in a 2nd time...which I know isn't great to hear...
