 Possession or jealousy? Help!
So I just adopts a 3 year old Yorkie from a shelter this past Wednesday so I haven't had him for a week yet but I've noticed he bonded very quickly with my mom and I. Maybe because we're the ones who picked him up at the shelter? But I've noticed he gets jealous or is possessive of us. When my brother gets close to my mom he barks and today he nipped him but nothing crazy. Should I wait a little longer to see if he settles down? I should mention that I walk him every day and when I'm at work my mom does it. My brother hasn't spend too much time with him. All the time he spends with him is always with my mom or with me. Could that be a part of the reason? How can I fix this? Or is it too soon to know if he'll stay like this? Should I maybe have my brother start feeding and walking him by himself? Any help would be appreciated guys! Haven't had a dog in a long time! |
