I actually got giardia a few years ago from a very sick little puppy, unfortunately the Drs didn't catch what it was for a whole entire month- I was very sick and also very careful and none of the six kids or my partner became ill either from myself or the dog. Terrible business, I suppose I am even more careful now! This is an especially good reminder for me to apply to my children who have always been actively involved in animal chores.
