House leash!!!! A house leash is something that has helped me a lot, and I thought I might share it with you.
I have about a 20-foot leash that I use in my house. I hook it to something in the house and then put my pup on it. It's long enough that he doesn't seem to mind it at all, and he can still run around and visit and play. I put him on this when I have company or children going in and out of the house. And, occasionally, I hook him up to it when I am making several trips bringing groceries in from my car, etc. It has also been a great solution for me - when I'm baking and opening and closing a hot oven or during other cooking times.
There are just times when he needs to be confined (even though he is in the house). And, with this leash, he can still get around the better part of the front room and still feels a part of everything that is going on. This has worked out so much better (especially for him) then confining him to another room - where he feels alone - gets lonely and starts crying and whinning. Plus we can all continue to enjoy and play with him when he's on this leash.
Just a thought - it works great for me - and has certainly made certain times much safer and happier for my little pup.
And - as you might guess - often when on this leash, he just curls up in his favorite chair and takes a nap. How safe can you get!
