The symptoms keep evolving. The scratching and licking pretty much stopped and then the polydispia started and then the dry heaves. I called the vet but he said as long as he was eating a bit and drinking (even if a lot) and active it was all good news...said the dry heaves really made him think it was something he ate. At any rate he dropped a couple of stools late in the day which really were stools (soft but shaped) and I saw no blood of any kind. Hopefully this means he is on the mend. Keep him in your thoughts and thanks to all who offered their sympathies!
