I saw a flea for the first time in my life when I was in my early 40s. Climate is part of it. We walk in areas where dogs traveling from warmer states stop (I-95 corridor). Florida has a much harder time with fleas, for instance.
Cathy's primary concern is ticks which are a big threat in her area. We have not had any tick problems here for a couple years. Probably because I stopped walking the dogs in our neighborhood.
