Cancer is a complex disease and several factors seem to have to be present before the cancer takes hold, genetics always seems to be an important component, and there always seems to be more than just one other factor. If only one thing needed to be present, causation would be easier to prove. However, my point is that science and scientific testing leaves much to be desired in regards to the long term safety of a product. While the AFFCO approval on bag of dog food is very helpful, I think people should be aware that it just shows a very small part of the overall picture. In my opinion, the AFFCO seal of approval should be thought of as a starting place, but not as the end-all.
