I rescued my lil girl. I wasn't really even looking for a puppy at the time, but I had lost my lil love and was heartbroken. Anyway, I found out about Sunni. I got her for free actually, but she did require some expensive medical treatments. I love her so much, that knowing I will be losing my last lil Shih Tzu in the near future, I started to look specifically for Yorkie rescues. Matese (friend from this site) told someone else (I think in CA) to try Yorkie Rescue 911, and just for the heck of it, I tried that but for NJ, lol. Well, I am thru the preliminary adoption process and approved. Just have to have the home visit. I will be able to choose a dog when I am ready. I dont want another new dog while my Harry is going thru this stage of life. I do know that I will want to have a playmate for Sunni. The adoption fee from the organization I am working with is $500. - $650. depending on the age of the dog. They are completely vaccinated, totally vet checked, micro chipped, even dental has been done if necessary. They even have some special needs dogs that may be blind or deaf or otherwise disabled, and they will cost less. The fees aren't really that high, when you think of the fact that they do use money they get for the more "desirable" Yorkies, young, tiny females, for the less likely to be adopted. Senior or disabled

. I do hope you consider exploring possibly rescuing further, it seems like the cost may be just about right. They do get puppies but you may need to wait a little bit. Good luck!
