My boyfriend and I have successfully crate trained Benji! He loves going into his house and never wimpers or barks when he is inside. We make sure that when we come home we take our time putting our coats away and do not praise him when we open the crate so that he doesn't feel like he is being liberated. It has been working really well. However, I am going to be working full-time soon and really want Benji to be able to have free reign of our apartment. How do you go about doing this? How do I train him to make sure that he doesn't chew on things he shouldn't and he still pees on the pad? I am just not sure how to incrementally introduce him to this and how old should he be before we try leaving him alone at home? Thanks guys!
