It does mean different things for different people.
My thing is basically, what the heck is wrong with being a dog! So when I hear someone say, "He's more than a dog", I know the person means the dog is part of the family, or that the relationship is close and special.
For me "dog" is more than adequate to sum it up.
I will say that when it comes to my kids and my dog, everyone gets medical care and attention and love, but I would give my life for my kids. Does that mean that my kids have more "status"? If it means that, then they do. |
