A photoshop action is a collection of steps that you turn into one step. For example, let's say for many pictures you end up 1) slightly sharpening 2) slightly lightening 3) adding sepia tone and 4) whatever else.....you could create (or buy) an "action" by recording all those steps taken, into one single "action" or action button. Actions are SO fun to buy!
