 How Much Should You Pay For Teeth Cleaning?
First post here. I am having my Yorkie's teeth cleaned. My vet, who to date has been very professional and kind, has quoted me at one thousand dollars. The quote lists a lot of extras as if all of his teeth will be pulled -- I assume it is a worst case scenario quote and I'm seeking clarification. A lot of dog owners are telling me they only spend 150-200 for a cleaning.
Having said the above, I would like to know what you all pay to have your Yorkie's teeth cleaned.
Also, do you think the procedure of teeth cleaning (i.e. putting the dog under) is dangerous? I have heard mixed reviews, however, the alternative to not having professional cleanings, especially when my dog wont let me brush his teeth, is to eventually have him put to sleep anyways for removal of teeth. I should note that my dog is adopted so I never had a chance to train him correctly as far as brushing. If you have tips, I would appreciate them. |
