Hello everyone! This is my first post here on YorkieTalk
I've been a loving mommy to my beautiful yorkie girl Daisy for 7 years now! She is the best dog I could ever ask for.. She doesn't chew on anything, pees on her pad every time (even goes on her own in the middle of the night.. all the way from her bed upstairs!), and has free reign of the home when we are not there.
I always felt like we neglected her by not getting her a friend. My teenage daughter and I love to kiss her and cuddle with her, but when it came to playing with toys are roughousing, we didn't succeed! So, last week we brought home a beautiful baby boy, Brody! He is 9 weeks old and 1 day! He's precious, and seems to love his big sister very much already.
I guess training Daisy was a breeze.. it wasn't very long until she knew where she had to go. She never chewed anything too much, and I never crated her at night - she has slept in my bed since night 2! Like I said earlier, she has free reign of the house when I am not home. I don't leave for more than 3 to 4 hours max at a time..
When will I be able to leave Brody with her? I have been crating him, but feel so bad leaving him to cry while Daisy hangs out! I don't expect to leave him out with Daisy for another couple months, but do you think he will do okay when the time comes? I have a small home, and I shut the doors when I leave, so it's a kitchen and living room for them. No cords are out, it's very puppy proof.
When the time comes, will they do alright together? Also, when it comes to training Brody, will he be able to pee on the pee pad forever like my little girl? I'm worried about him lifting his leg.. will this go away with neutering? He's been doing really well with the pad and I've only had him 5 days. He gets it most every time!
Also, any tips would be great. Raising Daisy was a breeze, I almost forget how I did it! Will he take after her? I hope so..
