I wish my babies would eat their food one piece at a time. I have three dogs and by the time I get around to feeding the third dog and putting away the food, my two yorkies are finished! They swallow their food whole. It takes them between 15-30 seconds to finish their allotted food. I have tried putting plastic keys, rubber bones (as per breeder) and the thing they sell that is supposed to make them eat slower. Nothing has worked. Up until two weeks ago, Elliot ate her food one piece at a time and crunched it. Then two weeks ago, she started gobbling her food whole.
I don't know how to get them to eat it one piece at a time. I would think they would enjoy it more and feel fuller if they eat it more slowly and chew it. |
