I think I should expound a bit on this with regards to my posting about Hill's, RC and Royal Canin foods.
For some time on this forum, no one spoke up to say they fed the above foods because so many people had posted what the DFA's beliefs/opinions are and they were intimidated. I was not affected by what they said in terms of my choices. What bothered me is that I would see posts from people where they were advised to feed a prescription diet and they were here apologizing saying things like "I know the ingredients are bad" and asking what else they could do. I made a decision to speak up for the good of the pups that this could affect in a negative way. If a vet suggests a food for a sick pup, I don't think it is doing anyone a service and certainly not helping the pup to say the vet is making money off of the food and that that is the only reason he/she is suggesting it. I have years of experience with these foods and can speak first hand about how they help sick dogs.
I don't feel a need to defend my personal choices regarding anything I do with my pups! I have given much thought to everything I do. As I have said over and over on this forum, I will continue to speak up for these reputable companies....for the good of the pups. People need to know about all types of food in order to make decisions for their pups. |
