Dear Betsy.
Sorry your baby is not taking the chemo too well, and it was wise to stop it as you did. You say he is feeling much better now and the break in chemo is giving his sweet body a rest for recovery of his strength.
Please go on your vacation with your family, you need this time out from all the stress you have been under lately. William is doing well and is stable now and the sitter is well able to care for him while you are away, and he will be happy with her as he knows and trusts her well. Please don't feel guilty about leaving him, nothing drastic is going to happen in two weeks and he will be here to greet you on your return and I am sure feeling good after his few weeks off the chemo.
So we will be thinking of you, your family, and William and praying he will be fine and that you will have a wonderful family trip.
So yes you are definitely doing the right thing .....ENJOY!!
