Actually, Amdro Fire Ant Killer is not going to kill your pet! It only takes a very small amount to treat an ant bed mound, and the ants take the small amount you sprinkle on the mound, down into the nest away from the pet! I have used Amdro all over my yard, for many years, with no ill effects to my dogs. I put it on any mounds, sprinkle a max of a tablespoonful, across the top of the mound, in the evening after the dogs are up for the night....the dew activates the bait, the ants carry it into the ground away from the dog's reach overnight, and I even put it in a broadcast spreader and scatter it into the grass all over my yard....the granules fall into the grass, the dogs dont eat it because they cant even get to it.....and I have no fire ants at all, anywhere in my yard!

My dogs are never outside unsupervised any way, so even if they did get into a fire ant mound, they could never start eating up mouthfuls of the Amdro because there is not that much on the mound and I would not allow them to graze on ant mounds!
