Personally, i think what's more important than the exact age when you get your dog, is getting him/her at a time in your life you can make them your top priority. I took two weeks off work at the time I got ZoE. That gave me enough time to get her setlled, get ino a routine, and get a plan in place for her, for when I returned to work.
