Putting two males together not a great idea either, the non neutered male could get aggressive / dominant with your lil guy. With all the stories I have heard / read of these lil rascals climbing out of x-pens and play pens and my own experience of my lil girl climbing a 3 foot high fence, I wouldn't trust that either. If your little girl comes into heat that boy will find a way out and over fenced in area's. I would let them play IF she is NOT in heat but ONLY with me right there, not leave them alone for a minute, watch them like a hawk. When you can't be with them lock the visitor in another room with the door shut, not fair to the little visitor but for the safety of your little girl. Not a good time to repay favor, believe me I do feel for you.
