My question is there any particular brush/comb I could use to make things easier? I have used the typical soft brushes, a metal one and bought a human hair brush that seems a bit better. Also my groomer suggested I use conditioner in a spray bottle but I'm unsure what kind of conditioner to use, is there a dog one?

I'm the lady who asked the matting question and I received great answers. I posted in the last week or so. Good article from a breeder.
So far the things that are working are dampening the coat, dog detangler, and the tangle teezer brush. I'm going to try a conditioner today. My pup has a lot of hair also it's pretty strait with a thick under coat. I also will have it cut shorter for the summer.
Good luck.
