Syrup of figs is a liquid laxative made from figs, and it tasted sweet if I remember (many moons ago!). The only bad thing was its laxative effect
Luckily the Newton probably contained only a small amount of figs and is mainly sugar. Better watch out for the cookies now she has a taste for them.
In fact figs are very nutritious and high fiber, perhaps we should eat more....in moderation of course, LOL!
