I met with the designer/contractor today for 2 hrs. and I can't tell you what a sense of relief I feel. He must be part psychotherapist because he so patiently listened and put all my fears to rest. We agreed to start the design process with no rush or deadlines, and once the design is compete everything will be ordered then we wait for 4 months or more til it gets here before doing demolition and installation.

So, it's going to take some time.... But I need the time to get rid of tons of stuff jammed into the kitchen, pantry and garage in the last 22 years. At least I won't be living without a kitchen all that time.

I had 8 months of remodeling done in 2010-2011, everything except the kitchen, and really needed a break. I was living in the house during remodeling and had 5 doggies back then. This will be so much easier with only 3 dogs and doing one room.
