There was a vet on a news program yesterday that sad that current available flu vaccinations will NOT protect against this strain of flu that they have found was brought into the country from Asia.
Right now the best defense is to keep your pets away from public areas and make sure no wandering dogs use your yard. If an infected dog sneezes on you or your clothing you can infect your pet if it comes in contact with the contaminated clothing or skin.
People from every region should use caution since it only takes one infected dog to bring the virus into a new area. |
