I understand your situation better I think. The dog you have is three years old and I guess been with the other woman all this time and you have only had her a week. You said she seems depressed and I would rightly think so. You also said if the lady wanted her back you would give her back to her. So I guess you need to find out if she does miss her dog and would like her back first before you would take her over for a visit as it would greatly upset your new baby. Do you know if she took good care of her because if she did not you would not want her to go back into a situation where she was not cared for well. You also said your son in law said she has way too many dogs? Maybe that was why she gave her up and if so it may not be good for your new baby to go back with her. I hope things will work out well for you and your new baby.
