Desperate new yorkie mommy here!

I brought my yorkie home when he was 4 months, he's now 5 1/2 months old. His stools were perfect on the puppy food they sent him home with (Regal Puppy Bites).

I gradually started switching him to Science Diet Puppy food and everything about his stools changed. I took him to the vet (and they loved the thought of switching him to Science Diet) about his diarrhea, they put him on a pill and some bland canned food for a week. His stools were still very soft.

I've now tried boiled chicken and white rice and everything is worse! He seemed to be better on the science diet.

He's not lethargic, in fact he's super playful!

Does anyone have a Yorkie that reacts badly to chicken and rice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want a happy healthy puppy. I've heard pepto is safe, but I'm afraid to try it on a puppy.
