I see the word "pet" as a term of endearment at times. It used to be quite commonly used for significant others, wives, husbands.... not so much now.. something to do with political correctness.
I don't hug a pet turtle, but I do hug our pet dogs.... I also have no problem with the term "it". Others, find that very offensive and I don't understand why. The Webster or Oxford definitions are clear about "it".
I also understand everyone is entitled to an opinion and I respect that they have one. LOL Just, don't force them on me and we'll be fine! LOL
