As far as dental procedures, they are not as deeply sedated as they would be in a surgery and the gas anesthesia they use for small dogs is quickly reversible. I always take all precautions I can and do blood work ahead of time to make sure all is normal, request iv in place during procedure and a warming pad is used. |
We already had blood work done and everything was normal except her sugar was just a little above normal but the Dr said she wasn't concerned it was probably just her nerves.
Why do you request an IV and warming pad?
I wish they would let me drop her off in the am but the require an over night stay the night before to ensure she hasn't had anything after midnight.
