It depends on what is the trigger.

Many times it's a food allergy. Though it's hard to figure out what food it is. Many are allergic to chicken.

Sometimes it's seasonal allergies. Or a bug bite or flea allergy. Or just have sensitive skin.

Uni has always been an itchy baby and I tried what seemed like everything. Coconut oil on her hot spots after a bath, wearing shirts so she can't scratch, when it got really bad she got a steroid shot (not a good solution for long term management).

Finally figured out she was sensitive to hard water. Our new house has a soft water system. She hardly ever scratches now.
