I think it depends on the individual dog. Mine was 1 1/2 when I bred her for the first time and it was her second heat. I don't intend to breed her on back to back heats, as I feel she needs time to "recover" for lack of better term.
I worked with a breeder that would breed back to back heats because her female only came into heat every 10 months. She skipped the first, bred the second two, skipped the next and is breeding the next 2, then retiring the female. |
