Yes, giardia is a very harmful virus. It is also very contagious. I hope your vet explained how important it is to clean every where that your pup had gone poo with a good disinfectant. If she even steps where she once went poo she can get reinfected.
I haven't treated giardia in many years but I would much prefer to give a pill than liquid to a pup. Liquid is just not a very accurate way to administer medication. A pill can be broken and crushed and put in food. Many times when you put a liquid in food they still know it is there and refuse it. If you cannot find a way to give the liquid I would call the vet and ask if there is any way to get a pill that you can split and crush. |
