Hi. I'm not sure if this is your first puppy, so not sure how to help. I've had dogs that were nightmares trying to give meds, and some that just took whatever it was. The only way I could get one particular shih tzu who would go absolutely wacko crazy, was to put the syringe by where I was going to give her the medicine…Pick her up on my lap and put her face on my knees..and just the old fashioned way…super quick..with one hand I'd stick my fingers into her mouth to open while the other hand was squirting the medicine in. I never felt like mixing it with her food would guarantee that she got it all, cause if it has a smell, she could probably pick around it, or not eat at all. Maybe another idea is to try mixing with a tiny bit of applesauce and let her lick it off the spoon. I think if you just do it as quickly and no nonsense ish (new word) she will eventually tolerate it. Give a good treat once she takes it, however you get it into her
