I would consider a sitter. We went on vacation years for nine days and left our two Shih Tzus in the care of a neighbor boy. He came and fed and watered them everyday. I found out that another neighbor saw him in our back yard and called the police. Poor kid was scared to death when two cops with guns drawn walked into our backyard.
We did this twice but I would be more concerned with a yorkie. I think I would opt for an adult pet sitter that came everyday. Many are bonded.
