Here in is the pet owners dilemma we don't feel that a stolen TV or a defaced home is a loss in the same way if our pet was stolen or hurt.

We want better protection for our animals in our care. And we naturally want to support legislation that seems to be on the road to giving our pets more protection under the law.

But at what cost to us? Surely there is some legal middle ground that recognizes our companion animals as more than a TV but less than a sentinent being?

And never mind the bad neighbour example, what if vets could report us for not doing a dental, or a cancer treatment? The implications astound an frighten me.
