I read once that when you dog goes inside, you should not let your pup see you pick up the poo.
Another idea is to take some of the poo and bring it outside where you want him to go.
Maybe you can just bring him back to basics. I limited Dink to the kitchen until he was fully trained. When he got careless with the poo, someone on this site recommended to go back to square one. It goes faster. Also ,now that your dog is older and wiser, he will catch on quickly.
Dinky was very reluctant to poo outside. I started training him at 5 months and the training went on for a full two months. He would still do a poo in the house occasionally after that. To this day, we praise the heck out of him when he does his poo outside. I'm not faking it, I am very happy that he does this!
