I don't know which is the best, but I use Sentinel Spectrum. This covers flea eggs and larvae too. The worms it covers are: Heart worms, roundworms, hookworms ( eggs not adults) whip worms, tapeworms. The Sentinel alone covers all the above but NOT Tapeworms!! My dog tolerated this oral med well.
Heartgard Plus for example only covers Heartworms, roundworms and hookworms( adults). So although the major use is for Heartworm, as that is a very hard thing to treat and can be fatal, the other worms can invade your dog and do need killing too.
Tapeworms come from the dog eating fleas, and hookworm from the ground via their feet and skin. So these are some you should consider as important.
So I would talk with your vet and see what you need for your dog in your area, and check which medication is the right one.
Heartworm and fecal tests should be done before dosing.
Good luck
