I haven't had this with Sunni, but its super common in Shih Tzu's. The best thing I could do (because they would start to panic and it makes it worse) is to just gently rub the throat and chest..not too hard and say shhh, shhh….its ok..and they'd stop. Sometimes it would start again, right away but do the same thing. It happened to all 3 of my Shih's and they never had serious side effects or problems with their throats. I hate that sound! It is scary to hear but you just have to stay relaxed so the dog relaxes with you. I hope this helps..and I hope it is same with Yorkies.
