Hi. I got a new Shih Tzu puppy boy, Parker, when Lexi was about 1 years old. Lexi likes her own space when sleeping so I have them is 2 separate crates at night. I would say as long as they have their own separate space and Grace is okay with it, then great. If Grace starts to show that she needs more space from him, them I would separate the crates. Things could be great now, but as Finnegan gets older that could change. Just follow the cues of both pups since you don't want to stress either one out. The only thing about adding a boy with a girl that was different, was the play humping. When Parker was about 4 months old he would hump Lexi during play time, mainly to get her attention if she wasn't paying attention to him. That only lasted a month or 2. For the food issue, I was also free feeding Lexi at the time, I ended up having to start schedule feeding because Parker LOVES to eat and he just couldn't free feed like her. I would suggest maybe finding a food that is an all life stages. I have never used any like that, but maybe others on here know of some brands. Look luck and enjoy the fun you will have with 2 pups! |
