I use wider velcro than most people use, and I usually use at least 3 inch strips. If your dog is 10lbs I would actually be using closer to 4 inches worth of velcro which actually makes for a really secure hold. I use my harness dresses on Tinkerbell when I take her to the park and she is about 8 lbs.
