My yorkie is having tremors off/on - worried! He has a vet appt, but they cannot get him in until the 14th. He has bad teeth, don't know if this is a pain issue? I was also wondering if maybe he has diabetes. He is 10 years old. I have a lot of health issues so haven't walked him much (but he plays a lot around the house) so 2 weeks ago I walked him down to the mailbox. When I put his harness on I could tell he had lost weight. The other day he drank so much water, several times. For the last 2 nights he will not sleep and scratches to get out of his crate. He shakes uncontrollably and won't settle down or let me hold him. It just happened again after I fed them this afternoon (he inhales his food, he doesn't chew it). Took about 20 minutes but he finally settled down and it stopped and he is resting. During/after this time, he is not following me around the house like he always does. I am VERY upset. He is my best friend. I am so worried. Has anyone else experienced this at all? Several months ago I lost my girl Bella as she suffered from addisons disease since she was 2 (she was 11) and I cannot do that again. I am so sick to my stomach. Is this a "true" emergency as there is another doctor at the clinic, but I just do not trust him like I do my normal vet. My boy also has collapsing trachea issues and is going to have to have teeth pulled. The other vet put him on a very short, tapering dose of steroids for it like 8 months ago and that was it. Feeling a bit frantic.
