I don't know if there is a "right time" to bring them to the groomers other than making sure all their vaccines are in check. I brought Mitsy to the groomers a little after all her vaccines were done; I bring my maltese to get groomed pretty often and wanted to expose her to it early on. I pretty much waited until she needed a haircut because baths I could do myself at home.
