That is because it is a live bacteria they use! But I do not personally like the possibility of giving them the very disease I am paying to protect them from! No one ever got it when I was giving the injection....but then I stopped going anyplace that requires this vaccine.....for it to be effective, I understand you have to give it every 6 months and it does not cover all strains....just not worth it for US.
